Why men die 5 years younger than women and how Movember plans to change that

Men’s health is in crisis and we need to take action. Men are dying too young, and too many men labour under the stereotype that it’s not manly to talk about their problems. The dire state of men’s health affects us all, so we want to help men take a more active approach to their mental and physical health.

Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health on a global scale, focusing on mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer and testicular cancer.

The charity raises funds to deliver innovative, breakthrough research and support programmes that enable men to live happier, healthier and longer lives. Committed to disrupting the status quo, millions have joined the movement, helping fund over 1,250 projects around the world.

In addition to tackling key health issues faced by men, Movember is working to encourage men to stay healthy in all areas of their life, with a focus on men staying socially connected and becoming more open to discussing their health and significant moments in their lives 

In the workshop, we will work on some of these challenges and projects that help have an everlasting impact on men’s health.

Michael is passionate about brands and telling their stories on multiple channels. He believes in the value of building relationships, is pro active and resilient and is an inspiring and empathetic team leader. He has proven to be an authority in his field, challenging the status quo on a daily basis and creating remarkable experiences for a diverse background of clients and employers.

At Movember he currently leads the foundation’s charity campaign in Mainland Europe from the London office where he focuses on all aspects of fundraising as well as marketing and communications.

Prior to his current role he worked in international PR, trend and brand consulting in Berlin as well as educating young professionals by teaching at a marketing and advertising university.
