Norbert Barthle

Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure

Norbert Barthle started studying German philology, sports sciences and philosophy at the Eberhards Karl University Tübingen in 1972. Mr. Barthle started his carrer in secondary school as a teacher in 1981, but since 1990, he served as curator of public relations at the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport of Baden-Württemberg. In 1990, Mr. Barthle became member of the CDU and has been part of the German parliament since 1998, where he became the CDU/CSU parliamentary speaker on budgetary policy.

From 2015 untill 2017, Mr.  Barthle was parliamentary state secretary at the Ministry of Transportation and Digital Infrastructure. Since 24.10.2017, he holds this position at the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
