Sean is a media consultant, journalist and linguist.   He studied French and German at Bristol University, including a year of study at Strasbourg and Mainz Universities.  He then competed a postgraduate degree in interpreting and translation at the University of Bradford, including a stage at the United Nations in Geneva.  He began his career as an interpreter working across Europe for international organisations and industry. He then trained at the University of London as a Broadcast Journalist and worked for 20 years for the BBC – in Europe, Russia, Africa, Asia and the USA.  He worked for the BBC’s Brussels Bureau for ten years, firstly as the producer to the Europe Editor; and finally, as the BBC’s Brussels Bureau Chief, managing an international team of journalists and technical staff covering Europe’s biggest and most significant news stories.  He has deep knowledge of the European Union and the ongoing Brexit negotiations – and an extensive contacts book of the key players in Brussels. Sean now runs SeanKlein Media Ltd, providing clients with expert media strategy, coaching, event moderation and film production.  Clients include the European Commission, the European Business Summit, VITO NV, European think-tanks, governments, commerce and industry and charitable foundations.
