Dr. William Lamb

Social Scientist

Dr. William Lamb is a social scientist working on the mitigation of climate change. He has a background in Ecological Economics (Edinburgh), a PhD from the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research (Manchester), and is currently based at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (Berlin). Dr. Lamb is interested in the energy and material requirements for meeting basic human needs; the role of everyday behaviours, technologies and sufficiency strategies for reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions; and the political economy of implementing fair and stringent climate policy. He has published widely in scientific journals such as Nature, Global Environmental Change and Environmental Research Letters.
